Thank you everyone for hanging in there. Today I am off to the next and hopefully last inpatient portion of my journey. I'm entering a residential PTSD program for 45 days of intensive treatment.I know this is going to be tough, but I'm ready. There are many rules and restrictions but none that are going to make it to hard for me to abide by.
I'm sorry I have not been posting on a regular basis, its just hard sometimes when everyday is soul searching for me. I struggle with killing off Rod Barry and moving on to the next stage of my life. Most everyone knows I have been spilling my guts on this blog and sometimes it's hard. I will be posting from within the walls via telephone with my buddy Paul for the next 45 days so check in from time to time my dears.
I also have a big anouncement to make very soon.

You're recovery is more important than this blog. I appreciate any time you can get to post here but you shouldn't concern yourself about how often you post. You've got to put yourself first and complete your recovery

Rod, I grew up watching you perform and will sure miss you if you stopped acting. I was looking forward to seeing you at 50, still one of the best in the business! You don't ever need to "kill off" Rod Barry. You can stop having sex with guys on film, and become the "former adult film star" Rod Barry (or use your real name). But we still want to hear from ya. I liked when you talked about your son, as much as anything, and your experiences in recovery too. Moving to a new chapter in your life doesn't mean you need to kill your persona off. Just evolve, and we're cool with that - applaud it, even! Take us with you on your journey.

Find yourself. Then be yourself. I'm sure who you really are is a truly awesome person. You're proving yourself and your mental strength every day by sticking with the rehab and counseling. You are a true example to others who believe it cannot be done.

hey there! just saying hi. i've had a few days recently where i could really go back and do some things i shouldn't. it gets to the point where i seem to remember only the fun. but i could go back and look at photos and call a few people and got through it without going back. it's fucking hard, i tell you, but i'm riding my bike a couple of hours a day and tiring myself out. it's a day to day thing. i know you understand. hope you're doing well for yourself. as others have said, you've given me joy in the past, and i hope you have joy in your life now. it's day to day.
